Organizing Your Closet

Have you ever walked into your closet and just wanted to scream?? I have! It can be overwhelming with new clothes, old clothes, clean clothes, dirty clothes and your spouses clothes!!

This is what my closet looked like at first:

I had it "color coded" but everything was thrown on top of each other with no rhyme or reason.

I found these awesome baskets at Home Depot and got to work!
I also got this great hook. My husband hung it up for me along with the two top hooks. The hooks on top are for my husbands hats while the black and white hook rod is for my jewelry, my husbands belts and my light weight hair scarfs.

I also got this double hook basket. It holds my bracelets on top and my shawls on the bottom.

As you can see it looks so much better! I labeled each box. Example: Blue & Green Sweaters/ Pink & White T-shirts etc.

I folded up all my jeans and placed them on top of one another. I did the same for my shorts and capris.

I color coded my sweatshirts and placed them on the top shelf.
My husband built me shoe racks for my shoes. I color coded them as well. The left side is for my brown/tan shoes with my brown boots next to them, the middle is for my black and colored shoes and the rack to the left is for my cream colored shoes with my black boots next to them. I put my Ugg boots at the bottom of my black shoes and placed all my flip flops in a basket with my sneakers!

I color coded all my dress shirts...
 And dress pants & skirts...

I did the same on my husbands side...

So pretty and ORGANIZED!

Drawer Organizer System

In my last post I wrote if you can't see it you won't use it: Day 7! Well this is a similar post!

My utensil draws are always a mess. Everything is always thrown inside with no rhyme or reason!

So I cleaned out both draws...

Got this awesome drawer organizer starter kit from Amazon. And began the process!

You might need to cut it to size...

And wa-la~ They come with stoppers to hold your utensils in place. Small, medium and large stoppers. You can change them up or move them around..as always make it work for YOU. I can see everything now! And when something is in the dishwasher I know exactly where it goes. If you want you can even label each utensils spot so you can help out your spouse or children.

If the rubber doesn't stay exactly how you want it to you can get Museum Putty again from Amazon. Put a little bit under each corner and it wont move at all!
I also cleaned out my baking draw:

I cleaned it out and placed a layer of cabinet liner down so nothing shifts (it acts like a grip). And I placed everything back in accordingly.

And my tupperware cabinet...

 It is ALL about organizing!!

Well that is all for today! Get organized and keep organized!!

It is as simple as 1-2-3!

7 Days of Organizational Tips (Day 7)

Day 7: If you CAN'T see it then you WON'T use it!

Last tip!! This is important! If you CAN'T see it then you WON'T use it! Have you ever looked in a cabinet and couldn't find something so you went to the grocery store to buy it to only come home and find the item you were looking for in duplicates?? I do this ALL the time! This will be an entry on how to reorganize a closet (aka: my pantry). I will be posting a few more posts in the next few weeks of products I have fallen in love with when organizing! In this post I will be showing you a product called:  Label Once

So lets start with my pantry!!

So I cleaned the ENTIRE closet out:
I couldn't stand the grates...everything drops through them! So I saw this awesome idea on a blog..vinyl tiling! Peel it and stick it to the grates! It doesn't mess up the grates it just holds everything in place!
Place the tile on the shelves.
We had to cut one piece to fit perfectly.
So I piled everything back in..after throwing away a bunch of stuff...
If you like my snack box check this blog entry out here to make your own!

I liked it but it was still chaos ! Especially the baking shelf. I had a basket filled with items and the extra sugar and flour where in bags. I couldn't see anything! SOOO..

wa-la!

I got lock and seal lids and filled them with my loose items. I then got rid of the bin and laid out everything I had. There were items in there that I never knew I had and items (like pudding) that I had in masses!

I got these amazing labels from amazon!

 Labeled the canisters!
Awesome thing about these is that it comes with the marker, eraser and labels. The marker is actually permanent and it won't come off unless you use the eraser for it! Check it out:

And bye bye it goes!

I also use this on leftovers in the fridge. You slap a label on the container and place the date on the label. You then know when you made it for freshness!

I also use them to label the shelves in my refrigerator so everyone knows where items go! Check out the post about my  "Grab & Go"  method here: Day 4!

I hope you enjoyed my 7 days of organizational tips!!
Stay tuned for my organizational ideas!!
