Oreo Chocolate Truffles

So my sister introduced me to this AWESOME AMAZING FABULOUS recipe!! So I have to give all the credit to her and YES they are THAT good! I put my own little spin on it for Valentines Day but owe her total and complete props for her recipe!! Check her out at Faith Works!

What you will need:
  • 8oz Bar of Cream Cheese
  • 36 Oreos (ALMOST a whole box of Oreos)
  • Chocolate pieces
  • White chocolate pieces (red)
Wine Paddle 032
Step 1:
Empty cream cheese into a bowl.
Wine Paddle 033
Step 2:
Place Oreos with cream cheese.

Step 3:
Mix together both ingredients . I first started using my hands…then realized I should have used my kitchen aid but since I already dirtied a bowl I whipped out my hand mixer and used that lol

You might need to stop midway threw and clean out your whisks…
ps: YES everything in my kitchen is pink…I LOVE the color. It is my fave!!  And since I am making Valentines Day Oreo truffles I figured I would whip out ALL my pink utensils =)

Step 4:
Use your hands and make round balls with your mixture. I placed them on two cookie sheets.

Step 5:
Place in freezer for about 20min

Step 6:
Melt chocolate. You can use a double boiler but to make it easier I melted it in the microwave. First start with your milk chocolate pieces. ( TIP: You can use ANY kind of chocolate. I love dark chocolate…but the people I am making these for prefer milk!) Place chocolate in microwave for about 30sec at a clip take out and stir. Continue until chocolate is completely melted…you don’t want to burn your chocolate.

Step 7:
Take Oreo balls out of the freezer and place them in the milk chocolate. I used a toothpick, valentines day themed =), to pick the balls up and place in the chocolate. Dip the chocolate down and slowly lift up and place on foil.

Step 8
Let harden! Should take no more then 5 minutes. By the time I was done with the last ball the rest were hardened!

TIP: EVERYONE uses wax paper…I love it..and love using it...but for this I used foil and I must say it was fantastic! When I lifted up the balls they didn’t stick at all. I sometimes find when I use wax paper it tends to give me a little bit of resistance. – see no mess..and the bottom is firm and didn’t even leave a mark of chocolate on the foil!

Step 9:
Melt red chocolate (white chocolate) the same way you did the milk chocolate.
Wine Paddle 051Wine Paddle 066
Step 10:
I drizzled the red chocolate over the balls.
TIP:
Get a plastic bag turn it inside out over your hand like this….

Step 11:
Place chocolate on top of the bag..then turn the bag outside to in!

Cut tip of bag and start drizzling!

Step 12:
I placed the balls back in the freezer for 5-10 minutes to “flash freeze” them so that I could store them in a freezer safe container.

This is what YOURS should look like on the outside and inside..

A chef should always taste their finished product right?? (:
