Introducing Shoppe Dezi Lu:
Welcome to Shoppe Dezi Lu! I specialize in custom hand painted rustic wood signs, wedding and engagement decor, photo props, banners and pet tote bags.
I opened my Etsy shop on February 1, 2013, after losing my non-profit job of 24 years due to budget cuts. I can't help but think of that saying, "when one door shuts, another will open". How true that's turned out to be, and what a blessing in disguise!
I've always been creative, and HAVE to be in the middle of two or three projects (and books!) to feel alive. It's such a blessing to be able to do what I love each day. I specialize in custom, personalized wedding decor, photo props and gifts, including rustic wood signs, banners, coasters and magnets.
I love to decoupage and paint. I spent years making greeting cards and sitting at my computer creating digital scrapbook pages. I hope the desire to learn and drive to create never leaves me. At the top of my list of things to learn someday (the ever elusive "someday").... pottery, ceramics and working with precious metal clay.
I introduced a new line of dog and cat tote bags in September of 2013. I create the graphic designs in Photoshop, and have them printed onto pre-made tote bags. I check each bag for quality prior to shipping. I don't drop ship, unless it is requested (such as in the case of a rush or wholesale order). Etsy Admin approved my process before I ever even created the first graphic image. I woke up with the idea, and emailed them immediately. This is the only handmade item in my shop that I create using manufacturing help.
I work from home, in my basement "studio" where I paint, design and cut my stencils and pack orders for shipping. On nice days, you'll find me outside cutting and sanding boards, or taking pictures.
I am so grateful to my hubby for supporting me in this new direction I've taken in life, and to Etsy for providing this incredible selling venue. I've already met so many wonderful people - customers and fellow Etsians! It is an awesome community that I'm proud to be a part of.
