Chalkboard: Teachers Name Sign

What you need:
  • Mini Chalkboard
  • Glue (I used Gorilla glue)
  • String
  • Stickers either flat or 3D
  • Puff paint (I used white)
Since I got a teaching job and graduated from college I have been so excited about seeing my name (Mrs. Stewart) on things! Sounds funny I know, but after four years of undergrad and now doing my masters it truly has been a huge accomplishment! So here is one of my fun and cute activities that I made for myself as a new teacher =)

This is an EASY and QUCK (two of my favorite words!) project! I stuck the embellishments on to the chalkboard. Then I spelt my last name out with the white puff paint! Simple as that!

After it dried I then glued the string on to the back of the chalkboard. Since they were heavier stickers I wanted to use a heavy duty glue!

Finished product!
This would be a great and easy gift for your child's teacher(s)!

It wasn’t too cold but I just had to put the fire place on to get in the fall mood =)

OK on to the chocolate covered pretzel tutorial!
What you will need:
  • Pretzel Rods
  • White Chocolate ( You can use, dark chocolate or milk chocolate too!)
  • Sprinkles
  • Double Boiler ( I used a pot than I had a class bowl that fit right on top!
IMG00106-20101023-2316 IMG00110-20101026-1850
IMG00100-20101023-2249 IMG00101-20101023-2249

  • Fill pot with water.
  • Fill bowl with chocolate I used 4  boxes of Bakers White Chocolate
  • Turn stove on high and melt chocolate stirring every so often, you don’t want the chocolate to burn!
  • After the chocolate is melted lower the heat of the stove!
IMG00099-20101023-2249
  • Now take a pretzel rod and dip the pretzel in the chocolate. Take a spoon and help cover the pretzel with chocolate. Leave about 2-3 inches of the pretzel w/o chocolate so you have something to hold on to!
IMG00097-20101023-2248
  • Lay pretzel on either wax paper or foil
IMG00102-20101023-2249
  • Cover the pretzel with sprinkles
IMG00103-20101023-2250
  • Finished product
IMG00104-20101023-2250
IMG00105-20101023-2250
  • Let harden over night for good results! Then place pretzels on a pretty plate or platter! Another great idea is to give these cute pretzels has a goody bag gift! Wrap them in pretty plastic wrap and tie a ribbon around it!

Simple as 1-2-3 Kitchen Tip:

Storing Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Store chocolate-covered pretzels in an air-tight container in a pantry or other food storage area. These treats do not hold up well in the freezer, as the pretzel loses moisture. It is possible the pretzels will taste stale when defrosted.

They were so yummy and everyone loved them!!

HaPpY hAlLoWeEn!!!

I am totally in the spirit for Halloween!! So I decided to put up all my decorations! I got a lot of them from the dollar tree and some of them I have accumulated over the years from Michael's and other craft stores!
I have a “Halloween” Birthday party for my husband every year! So I decorate my house completely!  I will take pictures the day of but here are some of the rooms that I have done!
My Dining Room BEFORE:
HALLOWEEN DECO 013
AFTER:
HALLOWEEN DECO 033
I used cob webs and covered my hutch I had a another huge black slider that I hid under it as well!
HALLOWEEN DECO 035 HALLOWEEN DECO 036
HALLOWEEN DECO 039 HALLOWEEN DECO 040
I have a black leaf garland in the back of everything wrapped in purple lights! I have body pieces all around and in the cake stand! I put tulle over the mirror and hung spiders that I made from the cricut down the mirror!
HALLOWEEN DECO 042

I cut out the spiders and hung them on the mirror...

I did all different sizes...I then took crazy glue and glued string to the back of them so that it would look like they were hanging from the mirror!

I used a black bed sheet for the “table cloth” with a “cheese cloth” looking material for the runner! I have a

huge spider as the center piece and black candles!
HALLOWEEN DECO 043
I got black tulle and tied an end to our chandelier  then strong it to each corner in the room!
HALLOWEEN DECO 028
HALLOWEEN DECO 090
HALLOWEEN DECO 089 HALLOWEEN DECO 092
HALLOWEEN DECO 093 HALLOWEEN DECO 094
I hung another cloth over the mirror. I put white candles in the sconces  but first dripped a red candle on them to look like blood. I put two boas on the fire place with purple & orange lights. There is also two black pumpkins on either side and a black skull! If you look around the fireplace you will see little mice….
HALLOWEEN DECO 044 HALLOWEEN DECO 047
I got a black plastic table cloth from the dollar store and ripped it down the middle and hung it as drapes/curtains in to every door way!
HALLOWEEN DECO 073
HALLOWEEN DECO 082 HALLOWEEN DECO 083
HALLOWEEN DECO 086 HALLOWEEN DECO 087
I draped tool and tied a bow in the middle and decorated it with pumpkins, mice and a candle!
HALLOWEEN DECO 074
HALLOWEEN DECO 049
Good old Martha Stewart! She has the template on her website! I made these last year and they lasted because I laminated each and everyone ! YES it was tedious but it was worth it and a cheap decor! I put them all over the house! In my kitchen, dining room, bathroom and living room! Here is the website:

http://www.marthastewart.com/photogallery/halloween-decorating#slide_68

HALLOWEEN DECO 050
My center piece on our island! I had a black cloth with holes in it as the runner, a vase with water and red food coloring in it with black roses…eye balls, skulls and black candles!
HALLOWEEN DECO 053 HALLOWEEN DECO 054
My kitchen table: witches hat with mice and eye balls!
HALLOWEEN DECO 055
I covered the light with tulle and cob webs. I also took out the white light bulbs and put dark purple in!
HALLOWEEN DECO 068
HALLOWEEN DECO 080 HALLOWEEN DECO 081
Kevin’s man room: I put a skull garland around his bar and a
witches hat on top!
HALLOWEEN DECO 056
HALLOWEEN DECO 059
Small bathroom:
I draped a cloth with holes in it over the mirror…added mice and a cute towel as well as my “Boo Blocks” check out my tutorial for these here!
HALLOWEEN DECO 067

You all have given me so much inspiration with all your fabulous ideas! Keep them coming! I am still adding more to each room but this is what I have so far! What do you think?

Enjoy!
