Organizing Your Kitchen

Who doesn't like having an organized kitchen? Well Paper and Oats has some amazing printables to do just that! These printables are AWESOME to organize your kitchen with whether you are organizing your freezer, weekly planning meals, making a grocery list or a cheat sheet for your couponing!  Check her out!

Introducing Paper and Oats:

Paper + Oats started in 2011 with intaglio, relief, and screen prints. After trying a few other routes of handmade items, I've focused my efforts on simple, whimsical digital illustrations for every room of the house, as well as organizational printables to help simplify your life.

I have a strong passion for organization, which inspired my line of household and classroom printables. Whether they're hard-working moms or dads or inspiring educators, I love helping people organize and streamline their systems.

My prints represent much work to develop clean-lined illustrations that emphasize silhouettes and shapes of everyday objects and scenes. The color palettes are chosen to be unique and unexpected, meant to compliment a variety of homes and spaces.

I consider presentation to be of upmost importance, so my prints are always carefully produced and beautifully packaged, to make your mail-opening experience that much more exciting - because who doesn't love getting packages in the mail?

This is the ultimate kit to get your kitchen under control! Organize your pantry, plan your meals, streamline your grocery shopping, and record your favorite recipes with this versatile kitchen kit! This bundled kit includes all 3 of our editable kitchen-specific sets: Meal Planning Kit, Printable Recipe Cards, and Blank Labels for Organizing (fits to Avery templates!). See the lists below for what documents are included. You can also click the links for each set to see more photos.

I'm a designer by day, so all of my printables are created with careful attention to detail and a clear, to-the-point flow of information to help you simplify your life. I combined bright colors, bold typography, and a little tongue-in-cheek wording so your kitchen organization and planning doesn't take itself too seriously.

Each kit in this bundle is also editable! Blank fields can be filled in using Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Reader, or Preview. (Existing text in the design cannot be edited.)

MEAL PLANNING KIT:

• A Weekly Meal Plan (2 layout options): fill in your breakfast, lunch and dinner for every day of the week, and keep a quick running list of extra items you need to grab at the store

• A Monthly Meal Plan: keep track of your meals even further in advance with a perpetual monthly calendar with a space for your shopping list

• Grocery List: streamline your grocery shopping with a categorized shopping list based on sections of the grocery store.

• Price-Matching Cheat Sheet: keep all your ads straight without losing your mind or missing a deal, plus a small area to write out which stores' ads to check, so you don't forget any!

• Freezer Inventory: record what items you have in your freezer, and when they expire so none of your frozen items get lost deep in the abyss that is your ice box

• Refrigerator Inventory: keep track of everyday items that need to be kept in stock in your fridge, so no condiment goes unnoticed or expired

• Pantry Inventory: keep record of your dry goods and when to use them by, so you aren't halfway through baking your cake before realizing you're out of flour

PRINTABLE RECIPE CARDS:

Introducing Sweet Simple Life:

Sweet Simple Life started when Mary Sue and Kimber decided to start looking for some tools to organize their crazy lives. After numerous purchases and unsuccessful attempts at "making it work" they decided it would be best to create something on their own!

Sweet Simple Life grew as they created more and more pages in the planner. They decided to not only make it a planner but also a place to journal and document some great family memories. They also are both suckers for awesome design and super cute things. So, they incorporated a little of everything along with their love to design and created Sweet Simple Life. Organizing and Cleaning Part 1

If anyone knows me they know I LOVE to organize and clean ! So I figured I would post a few organizing and cleaning tips in the months of May and June  to kick off the spring cleaning season! I have several bloggy/etsy friends who chimed in to help me with awesome tips, ideas, items and downloads !!!

The Green Shop is stopping by to help me with my first blog posting on these topics!

Introducing The Green Shop:

Each reusable duster is made with 4 layers of anti-pill fleece fabric and fits snugly on your handle. It has openings on both ends so you can turn it around for more dusting!

So I went to my local dollar store and found this...

Brand name product..yup for a $1.00! So I bought this and brought it home..

So this is the wand...

And this is the actual duster. BUT it is a one time use duster. Once you use it you have to throw it away. Now for a dollar I guess that isn't so bad…BUT if you purchase one of the Green Shops reusable dusters you won't have to throw away the wand!

So the green shop sent me one of their reusable dusters. The packaging was super cute and "green"!

The Green Shops reusable duster fits perfectly on the wand.. as you can see it has the same two sewed lines to fit onto the wand perfectly!

Now I can use this wand more then once! Once I use it I can throw it into the wash and get it cleaned and reuse it! It is a FABULOUS idea!

If you compare the two products…the swifter duster that comes with the wand and the Green Shops reusable duster you not only see the thickness difference but also the quality difference! Plus you can use the Green Shops duster more then once unlike the swifter duster!

So head to your local dollar store and see what YOU can find and repurpose!

I am loving this product!!

Please stop by the Green Shop and let her know Simple as 1-2-3 sent you!!

Here is a printable that I found. Print it, laminate it and write on it what you will be doing on each day! Or you can put the printable in a word document and type into it like I did! =)

I have mine hanging on my calendar so that I can follow it daily !

Here is what mine looks like-

CLEANING: Under the Sink Organization

Complete chaos ! I don't know how many times my husband tells  me he 'can't' find something under the kitchen sink! Not that I blame him cause it looks pretty chaotic just looking at it! SOOO many sprays and unused products! So lets gets started...

Clean it completely out. Get rid of empty bottles and bottles and tools you don't use daily or even weekly!

OK now…use ALL space even the doors! I hung hooks on the door to hang my gloves. I have gloves for cleaning when I use cleaning products and gloves for cleaning the dishes. I hung them on hooks and used binder clips to hand them! I then..I know this will be shocking for someone of you….but I then labeled them! :)

I then placed items that I would use on daily/weekly basis back into the cabinet and labeled them! I used ALL space. There is a little shelf in the back of the cabinet where the vertical space is to small to place bottles vertically so I placed them horizontally and labeled the tops of the bottles so that I know what they are!

I then labeled spray bottles and hung them off of the shelf to free up space on the bottom part of the cabinet. So when you look into the cabinet you can quickly and efficiently grab the bottle you need!

I then placed items together and labeled them..

On the opposite door *Please excuse the stickers…whoever lived here before us left them on the door and they won't come off =(*…. I hung a small basket and placed extra sponges and brushes.

TIP: I use a toothbrush to clean around the sink where you can't really get a sponge in to clean!

On the left side I have a small basket that I got from Bed Bath and Beyond. I placed my swifter wet jet pads on top and in the basket I placed all floor items for my steamer.

*KEY- ALL floor items are together!*

AFTER!

SO much cleaner and now we know where everything is and where everything goes!!

It is as simple as 1-2-3!

Enjoy!

Craft Room/Office Makeover On a Small Budget!

My office/ craft room has been a disaster lately:

I know...don't judge!

  Ya I know pretty bad!

I went to the dollar store and spent $12 on new baskets and bins. I also went to Walmart to get a new table which was $30. And then I found two shelves at a tag sale for $20.  SOOOO for a total of $62 I was able to reorganize my entire office/craft room!!

I first went to Walmart and bought a new table..

And cleaned up the entire floor..

I organized the table with my Silhouette machine...it has been in need of a home!

I found these awesome shelves at a tag sale! 2 for $20! It was a steal!

So I went back up to my craft room/office and got to work..

I cleaned all those items out of that corner and out from underneath the table.

I placed my new shelf units in the room...
I opened up draws and realized HOW MESSY everything was! So stopped what I was doing and cleaned those out first!

 I cleaned out the draws..

I laid liner down and placed the items back in the draw..

I got clear containers from the dollar store. All my highlighters in one container, colored pencils in another and pencils in the other container.

Side right draw has: Paper clips, thumb tacs and binder clips

Draw to the left: Post-it notes and rubber bands
Clean space to use my tools !! yippy!!
I got shoe box containers from the dollar store and stored my markers, pens and gel pens in them. I labeled each container...

I cleaned off my desk and got these cute stackable bins from the dollar store and labeled them.

Coupons, File, Outgoing, Incoming

This is my mail station...all mail is sorted here and placed in the proper bin. No more mail on the kitchen counter or the kitchen table! I know where everything is and where everything needs to go!

I  cleaned up my ribbon station..

And placed all my books according to need and use.. I eventually need to come up with a better binder system...that is in the works...
My handy-dandy new stand with my office supplies on it!
I hung a basket on the wall and organized my office items:

Each folder is labeled with what is in the folder:

Return labels, Ideas to do, Work, Valentines Day etc.
When going through magazines I find things I like.... so I rip it out and place it in the folder it corresponds with. I can then file it away after I am done using it or throw it out if I don't need it.
 Recipes:

My desk caddy was in need of a good cleaning:

My caddy is now cleaned up with items placed back in their proper home!
Coming back to my office station:

I found these bins at the dollar store. I thought they would be great for my receipts! My home receipts are items like if we bought a new washer and dryer I would place that receipt in the "Home" bin and then file it or discard it. If I bought something for my classroom I would place it in the "Work" bin for tax purposes. After the tax season is over I file my receipts with my tax papers so the bin is cleaned out for the next year.

I cleaned up my wrapping paper station... no more clutter under the table or in the corner!

My craft station was cleaned up as well with the my other new stand next to it!
I organize my paper by color...
I also place the small pieces of paper in ziplock backs...

Small pieces in the small bag, medium in one bag, and the larger pieces in another...
I had these cute boxes and placed them on my new handy-dandy shelf! I labeled each box with my new labels ( Check out this blog post for information on the labels: Day 7)

I labeled each shelf for my office supplies...so everything goes back to were it needs to be and I will also know when I am getting low on an item!

I also moved a file cabinet into my office so that it was more convenient !!

Finished product:

It is possible to organize on a small budget!! Each zone has a purpose and is clutter free!

It is as simple as 1-2-3!
