Mother’s Day Gifts!

food1 038
When did Mothers day get so expansive?  This year I am taking a step back and truly looking at the holiday! It is to celebrate mothers for all that they have done for us in our lives! Not to buy them some extravagant gift and to drop a phone call to wish them a happy day! So celebrate is what I plan to do!
I plan on having my mom and mother-in-law over for a BBQ! A night for them to not have to cook and to sit back and relax!
I have been pondering what to get them thou! We are on such a tight budget so I knew this was going to be hard! I have looked at all of your ideas and truly loved a lot of them! One of them being from my cousin-in-law over at Mine For The Making! She made a super cute dish for her foyer:

Check out her tutorial for her how to!
So I decided to make the moms something that they love… (desserts) on something homemade from me a plate!

Here is what you will need:
  • A dish ( I got it from the dollar store)
  • Black vinyl
  • Multi Purpose Sealer
Step 1: clean the dish..make sure there is no dust or dirt on it!

Step 2: Print out the Vinyl words/letters etc!
I did “S” for my mother-in-laws last name and “K” for my moms last name. I then typed out a quote.. “Home is where the heart is…”. You can use whatever quote you’d like!

Step 3: Place the glaze on top of the plates so that they can wash the dishes in the sink and not worry about taking the vinyl off!

Step 4: Let dry for about an hour!

Then place their favorite dessert on top! I am going to place the dessert in the clear wrapping paper on top so that they can see the plate too!
For my mom I am either going to do a praline cookie or a sugar cookie! For my mother-in-law I am going to make my famous peanut butter cookies!
I will attach a tag to the cookies with something that says “Mother’s hold their children’s hands for a while but their hearts forever!”
This was simple, easy and from the heart!

Enjoy!
